Title: Fantastic Smart Alarm Clock – Super Fun to Customize
Review: Packaging: Shipped in Amazon box. The product was packed tightly in a branded blue and white Amazon container. Contents only included the device itself, a charger, and directions.Product Impressions: It’s super cool you can set up the device beforehand on the Amazon app or online on a webpage. On a basic level, this can simply be a alarm clock which I tested and worked perfectly with the Alexa app on my iPhone. I am a security guy and like my privacy, I love how easy it is to turn off the microphone by the press of one button on the device so it cannot listen to me anymore. On the other hand, I did play around with the app more in depth and with the device itself and found the settings to be pretty deep but also fun. I set up fun routines so that when I wake up, it tells me the weather, the traffic, chances of rain, etc. along with custom messages like, “here is today’s forecast” and such. The device is pretty customizable on the app but I wish it did have more clock faces for how much I paid for it. My biggest gripe with the device is: No power=No alarm. So if the power goes out in the night and doesn’t come back on by the time I wake up, I will not have an alarm. Granted this happens rarely, just wanted to point it out. The speaker is fine for a 1.5 inch however don’t expect quality sound. It sounds like a JBL handheld speaker if that helps.Usability: So many fun settings to customize for all fun tech people! You can even make it private and turn off A LOT of functionality for privacy if that matters most.Overall Thoughts: Price is kinda high but it’s super fun and I love playing around with it with custom queries! I hope future models will include areas to put batteries in case of power outage.

Title: I Love This Little Spot!
Review: Let me tell you how much I love this little thing! When the original Spot was released, I’d pre-ordered it. I was so excited for it to come. It was going to be the perfect new bedside alarm clock for me due to my previous one of 20 some years finally having died. And it was and is still going strong. Since buying that, Amazon has come out with the Dots which this is not! And Echoes which are okay, but those have turned into advertising units that you either can’t stop showing ads or, if you’re able to turn the ads and things off, it only lasts a few days before they start all over again. Then along comes the New Spot! It’s a Wonderful Thing! It primarily does ONE THING and does it so well! It’s a clock. It’s. A. Clock! Oh, it makes the announcement noise for things like deliveries, etc, but the Echo Show 5 I replaced with this Spot used to show me announcements and ads and all sorts of things I kept turning off that kept coming back and rarely showed me what time it was which is the one thing I wanted to see on the face. This Spot shows me what time it is unless I ask it something. I’m so impressed that Amazon finally listened to people and designed this unit to give me a clock! There’s a yellow line at the bottom of the screen if there’s a notification. There’s a clock face that shows the weather behind the clock. And there’s the clock that’s easy to read. The speaker is good, better than the original Spot, not a high end speaker, but has come a long way from the first one. My hope is that Amazon will leave it alone other than operational updates because this one is almost perfect! The only thing it won’t do for me so far is show me my Ring cameras. I can live with that.

Title: No detailed user manual
Review: We have 4 Echo devices in our network controlling a variety of items in our home. My wife needed a new alarm clock on her bed table and this Spot was being sold on pre-Prime day at a discount. It arrived the next day and was easy to set up using a QR scan. The user manual is a very brief and gave only the basics. Usually there’s a link to a more detailed manual but not in this case. You have to be careful because the Spot was originally introduced 6-7 years ago and then discontinued. This 2024 version is different so the old manual and much of the online discussions relate to the old model. Many functions can only be set by using the Alexa app on my IPhone. Some are available using the touch screen on the Spot. Over three days, through trial and error, we finally have it set up to do want we want. Most of our adjustments related to night brightness and volume. The night brightness has two modes. One is total night where the numbers change to a faint reddish glow which we found difficult to read. The other mode adapts the display to the level of ambient light. That works well and we adopted it. The one feature we couldn’t believe was missing was the inability to turn off a preset alarm without speaking out loud to Alexa. This was when either of us got up before the alarm went off and we wanted to silence it without speaking. Since there’s no manual, I contacted tech support and they couldn’t help me. They recommended using the Alexa app on my phone. That means we would always need to have a phone available and go through the menus. Unacceptable! Finally, after many many attempts, I finally found you can do that by tapping on the alarm display on the main screen. That takes you to a second display of the alarm detail and then you swipe left. The screen changes to a red bar with an “X” on it. Touch the X and the alarm is gone silently.Otherwise, the device seems to work well and so far, we haven’t heard shopping ads as are present on other Echo devices.

Review: The Echo spot is an excellent device. It is very easy to connect and and set up. You should know, however, that I am legally blind, so when I say it was easy, it really was. The whole process took less than ten minutes. At present I have a total of 6 Echo devices throughout my home (1 Show, 3 Pops and 1 Dot with clock, in addition to the Spot, so I do have some experience with them), and an eero Wiri network. The Echo spot has an excellent display which was easily customizable for my needs. The sound is very good quality. The design is perfect for a night stand and looks much better than my clunky old clock radio. In conclusion, I like it.

Review: I have Alexa smart devices throughout my condo, and the All-new Echo Spot (2024 release) is a recent addition that replaces my bedroom Echo Show 5. The primary reason for this purchase was the difficulty I had reading the Echo Show 5 if I woke up in the middle of the night. My aging eyes need visuals that are easier to read, especially in low light, and the display on the Echo Spot is infinitely better for my eyes.The Echo Spot’s round shape is also a big plus for me, as I find it far more appealing than the rectangular Echo Show 5. It fits nicely into the decor of my bedroom and has a modern, sleek look. For someone who values aesthetics as much as functionality, this is a far superior device.In terms of sound quality, I find the Echo Spot to be cleaner and clearer than the Echo Show 5. Whether I’m listening to music, getting my morning news brief, or using it as an alarm, the audio quality is excellent.Overall, for my needs—especially considering my vision—the Echo Spot is a significant upgrade from the Echo Show 5. It’s a fantastic device that combines great visuals, superior sound, and an attractive design. Highly recommended!

Review: El diseño de este ultimo echo (spot) es increible, yo lo compre en blanco por el contraste del negro de la pantalla, pero estoy seguro que en los demás colores de igual manera se verá muy bonito.Hablando de funcionalidades:- Básicamente funciona de igual manera que cualquer otro echo/alexa, aunque puede variar una que otra cosa debido a la nueva pantalla integrada.- Las animaciones que se muestran en diferentes ocasiones (al pasar un minuto en el rejol, al poner musica, al crear una alarma, etc., etc.) son muy bonitas, puedes personalizar tanto el reloj con diferentes diseños (que probablemente con el tiempo se agreguen más) y con diferentes colores (magenta, violeta, verde aqua, azul, naranja y lima).- La pantalla es táctil/touch y por esto, puedes acceder a configuraciones rapidas dentro del mismo Echo Spot (para una configuración mas detallada, abre la app de Alexa), ya sea, cambiar el color y diseño del reloj, regular el brillo de la pantalla, bajar/subir volumen, etc., etc.Puntos malos:- El Echo llegó en una bolsa de carton con burbujas (al menos a mi y a varios más) siento que al ser un dispositivo electrónico, debería llegar al menos en una caja de cartón con mucha más protección- La pantalla no es un circulo como se podría pensar, es un rectangulo en el centro de toda la parte negra. Cuando está el brillo alto o al máximo, se notan los bordes de esta. De lo contrario, en espacios obscuros/no tan iluminados, no se nota para nada.Conclusión:Por el precio que esta en este momento a miembros Prime, es una excelente opción. Como se aprecia en las fotos, se nota mas grande que una Alexa con reloj (olvidé el nombre) pero no es tanto como para estorbar, el tamaño es ideal. valió mucho la pena por el simple hecho de ser mucho mas elegante, con mas funcionalidades y obviamente, mas nueva y actualizada.Seguramente con el tiempo se agreguen funcionalidades para facilitar muchas mas tareas. Compra esta Alexa si quieres tener un reloj digital, una bocina de buen sonido y volúmen y obviamente, una asistente para tus tareas :)))Gracias por llegar hasta aqui y espero haber aclarado la mayoria de dudas :))
