Apple Watch Series 8 (GPS + Cellular, 41MM) Starlight Aluminum Case with Starlight M/L Sport Band (Renewed Premium)

The series 8 Apple Watch I bought was refurbished. It arrived in excellent condition and I’ve had no issues at all. I would mention that the watchband shown, that comes with the watch, is a knockoff brand not from the Apple Store; and also the watch face colors as shown in the ad are not available on a Series 8. There’s no way to make the watch face taupe with a white dial. But I do love the watch and would buy it again.

Great, but the oxygen sensor is turned off.
My Apple Watch 6 series was damaged by salt water 2 months after I turned off AppleCare, and I need a new watch. Unfortunately, I found out that oxygen sensors are turned off in series 9 and 10 while Apple fights a patent infringement lawsuit with Masimo. Earlier models were not included, so that’s why my series 6 still has a working oxygen sensor. My logical conclusion was that I needed to replace my series 6 with the newest available watch with an oxygen sensor and that would be the series 8. So…I find this watch and I have been SO excited….until it FINALLY comes in (more on that later) and I find that its oxygen sensor is turned off too. WHAT??? Late last night I did some research, and apparently any watch that is traded in for repairs or upgrade, will come back with the sensor turned off. You can not buy a new OR refurbished Apple Watch of any version with operational oxygen sensors. I hope this information helps some people avoid disappointment.Upon receipt, this renewed premium series 8 would not turn on or respond at all when I tried to power it on. I put it on my own charger (new, genuine Apple charger) and it took more than 2 hours to charge. It was overheating, so it had to cool down halfway through the charging before resuming. This concerned me. It was not acting normally and my other family watches do not have this problem. Once fully charged and set up, I checked the battery health and it was at 100%. The screen looks *brand new*. The crown has very fine scratches on it that come from 2 years of wear, so it is a used watch. The silicone band is brand new. Aside from the lack of oxygen sensor and the strange behavior during the first charging, this watch appears to be perfect. If you want an Apple Watch Series 8, with no oxygen sensor, at a great price, Amazon Renewed Premium is an unbeatable deal. Series 8 is cheaper because it is older, but it is still a substantial improvement from my series 6. You can not get an Apple certified refurbished series 8 watch in the Apple Store. I know because I have checked for several months before my decision to try Amazon renewed. I had to order this watch from Amazon twice. The first time it was not delivered and it looked like it was in limbo, so I canceled the order and ordered again.I have posted a picture of this watch and a picture of this watch next to my series 6 for comparison of the case and screen size.

Not happy
Had problem charging as did helping friends who wear these. Didn’t do what I wanted according to instructions. Although so far it isn’t working at all. There’s an Apple Store 2 hours away planning visit there first, good possibility I will have to return it.

Price is good. Package is not.
Watches came with cheap wristband not made by apple. Bottom part of the watches was covered in glue from stickers they use to protect. Spent 10 minutes cleaning it.Glue is fine. Wristband is disappointing.
