Title: Perfect starter drone!!
Review: I chose to purchase this DeerC drone because it had great reviews and seemed like a good way to learn and understand the basics of controlling a drone while being budget friendly and durable enough to withstand the initial mistakes I was pretty sure I would make.Itâs pretty small and not intended to be flown in heavy wind conditions but it can be flown outside when the weather is nice. More importantly, it can be flown indoors, which would allow me to practice without losing it on my first flight! It has many of the features a full size drone has, just in a much smaller scale. The camera mounted on it can be manually adjusted to view whats in front of the drone while in flight or can be aimed down to view whatâs directly below it. It comes with a handheld remote control that can be used by itself and also has a clamp to hold your smartphone which can be synced with the droneâs flight controls and itâs camera so you can have a live feed sent you smartphone via a wifi signal between the drone and your phone. The app is available for free for both IOS and Android. This way you can choose to control the drone with your phone or with the remote. You can also just control the drone with the remote and have the phone clamped to it and synced to the camera and take photos and videos during the flight which can be saved directly to your phoneâs camera roll.So far the weather hasnât been ideal for a newbie like myself to feel comfortable taking it outside to fly so I have been putting some practice inside the house just to get the hang of the different methods of control and learning to maneuver the drone in tight spaces which can be useful as well.So far Iâve learned the basics when it comes to syncing your phone to it and recording flights with the built in camera. Iâve gotten the hang of lifting off, adjusting the trim, controlling altitude, as well as maneuvering forward, backwards, left, and right, and safely landing the drone. I even had some fun with the different types of 360° flips this little drone can pull off! It really is a lot of fun. And based on the mistakes I made in the process of learning, I have to give it credit for its durability! It comes with an extra set of propellers but due to the propeller guards I havenât broken any yet!The video I posted along with this review is one of my earlier flights, adjusting the trim, testing the controls out and doing a couple flips before landing. For anybody interested in a small but durable drone, I strongly recommend this product. As long as you follow the instructions and take it slow you can easily learn to fly this drone, capture videos and photos, do fun tricks, and land safely. When you have nice days that arenât windy you will already know how to control it and have the confidence to take it out on an outdoor flight. Iâm sure you can capture some interesting photos and videos or even use it for things like examining the rooftop of your house or other hard to reach areas. Friends can film each other skating and capture really cool videos. For what it is I give it 5 stars and think itâs the perfect starter drone for those who are interested in the hobby and what to gain some experience without it costing an arm and a leg!

Title: This is a great little drone!
Review: I bought the D20 drone from Holy Stone as a gift for my nephew. I already had a small drone that I’ve been flying for a few months, so my review will be based upon that previous experience, and I’m giving the D20 Five Stars! The operation of this drone is a little more simple than what I’m used to (fewer steps to get it flying), so I think it’s perfect for someone just starting out, but I was also impressed by a few things right from the beginning before I even got to that point. First, the arms that have the propellers on them fold in next to the body of the drone, so it’s quite compact and easy to store or transport. Once the arms are extended, it’s a good idea to put on the propeller guards so that they’re protected before flying, and that’s very easy to do (easier than my previous drone) because it’s obvious when they snap into place. The batteries didn’t need much charging before first use, and I noticed that the D20 doesn’t get unstable when the battery runs low like my other drone does. It’s very easy to control and land right up until the point that the battery runs out and needs charging. It comes with two batteries and two chargers, and the Owner’s Manual has a lot of detail in not only English, but also Japanese and German. The camera angle can also be tilted manually up to 90º, which is very handy because you can take pictures or video straight down. The controller for the D20 doesn’t have a lot of buttons, but all of the functions are there, and I actually like the joy sticks on this one better! It’s easier to control them because of their size and texture. The trim function worked great, so this drone was easy to control even inside the house. I prefer flying outside when the weather is nice, but on rainy days, I still want to fly because it’s so fun, so I fly around my living room or even take the drone on a tour through the house, down hallways, and into other rooms. With a little practice, it’s easy, but if you’ve never flown a drone before I recommend you start out in open spaces until you have good control over it.Another nice thing about the D20 drone is that it has lights on both ends, bright white in front on the camera end, and red on the back. This means it’s very visible (better than my other one) and easily seen even in low light or at a distance. I don’t usually use headless mode, but this drone does have that feature, and it worked great. Also, even though this drone is small, it’s actually heavier than the one I’m used to, so it’s a little less affected by wind, but you still need to be careful to not let a strong gust take it away. Luckily, it’s easy to turn up the speed of the propellers, which helps keep it under control if wind is blowing in the wrong direction. The seller, DeeRC, shipped quickly and they sent me a thank-you email stating that they are happy to help if I were to run into any problems.

Title: Good beginner drone for use indoors
Review: The “DEERC D20 Mini Drone for Kids with 720P HD FPV Camera Remote Control” is fun to fly and a good 1st drone. It comes with a nice carrying case and two batteries. It is a few-frills device and demands some pilot skills to avoid crashes. Fortunately, the drone seems robust enough to survive lots the inevitable crashing inexperienced pilots are sure to enjoy. Young folk will enjoy the flip feature. As can be seen in the video, where I was trying to hover and stare at the wall clock, the trim function is essential. It is small and light and, with prop guards installed, is suitable for cautious indoor flying. The guards make damage likely, but of if a spinning prop hits a latex wall, it may leave small nicks. Two batteries are welcome as each gives less than 10 minutes of flight. The control range is limited (as the manual makes clear) and it is not powerful enough to resist any kind of wind: In one of my outdoor flights the breeze carried the mini-drone out of range whereupon it shut down and fell some 100 ft onto a lawn – with no damage (except to my ego). The camera is OK quality and can only be re-aimed manually. Unfortunately, the DE FPV app, necessary to download images and video, crashed a lot on my Samsung S8 cell phone. Also, the phone holder – a nice touch – is a little touchy with large phones; it would only hold my phone if I removed the phone case. Bottom line: I wouldn’t use this outdoors, or for a serious project, but it is a good starter drone that first timers will enjoy.Pros: price, case, two batteries, simple charger cable, removable prop guards, small and light, robustCons: phone holder is tricky, crashes easily, prop guards must be removed to stow in case, limited range
