Title: 12 yr old son loves it and best customer service ever!
Review: I got this for my son’s 12th birthday. He is very good at tech and gadgets, he has a 3D printer, and remote control cars, and considers himself a pretty decent beginner engineer/coder/inventor :-) Still we knew it’s just a beginner drone, very good price and thought if it as a stepping stone to better more expensive drones in the future if he enjoys it and is good at it. Start small right? Well, we were not aware that due to it’s very light weight this drone should not be flown outdoors if it’s windy. We live near the beach so there’s always a slight breeze. Anyway, on his first flight, depsite all my son’s attempts to get control, the drone went up into the sky and continued to just acend in to the heavens until it disappeared entirely. My son immediately burst into tears and we tried to google what to do as we drove around town looking for it’s fallen corpse. To no avail and that’s when we learned that this has happened to others. It’s called a flyaway, and it was either the wind, or just a malfunction. I reached out to the seller and they are long distance, I believe in China, but they responded in the middle of the night and right away offered to replace it free. I was so grateful because my son is very worried about spending money and was already sad that it had been such a waste. We got the replacement drone in a few days and it worked just fine at first! We were careful to tie a string to the body when flying it outdoors, so kind of like a helium balloon, we could catch the string if it started to fly away again. We also avoided flying it higher than 6 ft or so, so as not to catch a gust of wind or current. My son got very good at flying it indoors throughout the whole house and used the camera to make fun videos of chasing the cat up the stairs or surprising his sister. Anyway, about a month goes by and he comes to me and says one of the propellers isn’t spinning anymore. We do a little test drive and sure enough 3 of the propellers are whirring away and 1 is just sitting there, so the drone can no longer lift off. Now this may have been from banging into a wall, or dropping to the floor too fast, he insists there was no significant crash. I looked all over for a place that would look at it and try to repair it. Every drone shop I called said they would only repair the DJI brand drones, no one else would look at it. I figured it must be an easy fix, I looked at videos on Youtube, we tried all the suggestions, making sure the propeller wasn’t pushed too far down into the motor, resetting everything, changing the batteries. Nothing helped. Finally as a last resort and knowing it was past the 30 day return window, I reached out to the seller again and just asked if they could possibly repair it. Right away and very nicely, they just offered to send a replacement, AGAIN! Wonderful, thank you so much! Sad that we can’t just repair the old one, but maybe with a replacement coming, my son might be brave enough to take it apart and try harder to fix it himself, or learn more from videos, or even just keep it for spare parts in case the new one brakes. But I can’t say enough how kind and generous and understanding the seller has been, knowing they didn’t have to help us the second time. And going forward if his love of drones continues we will need to upgrade to something more sturdy and long-lasting, maybe for his 13th birthday. But for now he will learn from mistakes and get better at flying it. So yes, it’s cheap, and yes, it’s a trial-and-error beginner process, but we’ve gotten our money’s worth and then some so I highly recommend.

Title: Decent Value; Questionable Range
Review: It flies ok, but it’s very susceptible to wind and I tried flying it above the redwoods to see the sunset over town and I didn’t get my photo because after a certain point it was not controllable and was out of range. It was line of sight and everything.no response. Indoor use mainly probably.

Title: Fun little drone that won’t break the bank!
Review:  I have only owned one other drone (a vivitar skytracker drone) prior to this Pioneer drone. That drone battery never charged so I could never fly that one. I was able to get this Pioneer drone shortly after.Initial thoughts out of box: Smaller than the vivitar drone. I am a little worried oklahoma wind might affect it, but nice to not have to pay for another uas registration. The remote can hold your phone pretty securely, but larger phones may not fit. I have an older galaxy note 8 which fits, but I had to remove my phone case first. I found a larger carrying case though… once you attach the propeller guards, it’s a tighter fit in the original carrying case. I preferred to find the larger case versus removing and reapplying the guards with each use. The legs each folded out for flying and back in for storage.Registration through app was fast.App: The app is easy to use. There is the option to use flight controls through the app rather than the actual remote that comes with the drone. Display through the app is nice, not much of a lag time.Battery: Battery life is expectedly short, but it does come with two batteries which is nice. Full charging for each battery is fairly quick at 90 min each which is nice.Preflight: Calibration of the drone is fast. The one thing I would mention is to make sure the drone is level before calibrating. This will save time trying to fix the trim and will be much easier to fly. I ignored this step for my first flight and the drone pruned up some rose bushes we had.Flying: Flying takes some patience. If you are already an experienced drone pilot, it should come fairly easy. If you are more of a beginner, I suggest learning to fly this drone in an open field, away from pools, trees, buildings… the drone is pretty resilient if it accidentally bounces off something, but I still suggest using the propeller guards. It has 3 flying speeds: 30%, 60%, and 100%. I started with the 30% until I got the hang of it more. It has a one button take off and landing feature that is nice, as well as headless flying when it starts getting to high to see which direction it is facing. Using the on screen app controls seems to be a little more responsive than the controller.Camera: Comes with a 1080p adjustable camera which gives pretty clear pictures… video can be slightly blurry while you are changing direction of the drone, but is great in comparisom to the cost of the drone.Cost: Originally listed at $66… also had a 30% coupon. Definitely on the affordable end of drone costs.Wishes: Overall it is a fun drone to play around with. I do wish it was less affected by the Oklahoma wind, but that is no fault of the drones. My other big wish is that it had a return to starting point feature.Overall impression: Very affordable drone for anyone, but flying features may be better for someone with a little drone piloting under their belts already. Don’t be afraid to learn on it though. It is a solidly constructed drone that can take a little abuse from even brand new drone pilots without affecting its handling. Fun little drone that won’t break the bank!

Review: This is a great little drone. We bought it for our 7 year old and he manipulates is easily. It’s not great in strong winds, but I imagine that’s the case for most drones. Easy to use and a MUST buy for beginners, especially children. My husband is also very keen on it but I’ve reminded him he needs to share with the child that the present was intended for!!! :)
