Customers say
Customers like the connectivity, quality and appearance of the wireless adapter. For example, they mention it provides great control over wifi networks and devices accessing it, it provides thorough coverage in the entire house and it performs flawlessly. Some appreciate the simple design and the fact that it’s thoughtfully designed as a ceiling mounted and unobtrusive AP with no unsightly wires. That said, opinions are mixed on ease of use.

Title: Stellar Performance Simple Setup
Review: I am an existing Ubiquiti customer and have an established network. I was in need of an additional AP to boost the signal in one side of my home. I purchased the U6+ AP to replace my aging UAP-AC-Pro and had no issues adopting the new AP.Setup is a breeze, just connect the new AP to a PoE enabled switch port either on your Switch/Router or PoE Injector (sold separately) and hit Adopt on the controller, the software takes care of the rest. Total setup is less than 5 minutes.Performance is outstanding and supports up to WiFi 6 (note this is not WiFi 6E). I was able to saturate the 1Gb Ethernet uplink when running speed tests. I wish this came with 2.5Gb but for my needs, the 1Gb wired speed limitation works fine for most people, but WiFi 6 leaves some bandwidth on the table.Overall great value for the money, I plan to buy one or two more and extend my wireless into my shop next.

Title: The Ubiquiti software makes this MUCH better than other APs.
Review: An AP is an AP, except Ubiquiti has awesome software that makes managing a Ubiquiti network super easy. I initially bought another brand of AP, but it was giving me fits so I returned it and bought this one. I liked it so much I bought another. I have them at opposite sides of my house so I have great WiFi wherever I go. Even outside.

Title: Unifi by Ubiquity is simply the best there is.
Review: Unifi provides some of the best enterprise level networking equipment at prices suitable for residential deployments. This AP provides outstanding Wi-Fi connectivity with low latency, directional propagation, and some advanced features to ensure consistent strong signal.I’m using 3 of these APs combined with a Unifi Dream Machine Pro to manage my entire network. It is so nice having complete control of my network again.I got very tired of mesh router systems that wouldn’t even allow me to block access to rouge devices and are susceptible to basic hacks.I’ll never look back.

Review: instructions are poor and does not clearly state you need the inline power source. Once you get it setup – its great!

Title: Works great in a Unifi ecosystem
Review: I recently upgraded my Unifi based home network. I had an old Edgerouter PoE that was starting to intermittently fail. I had thought the problem was my Unifi AC Pro that kept dropping, but I came to realize that it was due to inconsistent PoE power from the Edgerouter that was causing my issues. The Edgerouter consistently ran very hot, and it seems plausible that after 6 or so years that it would start to fail.I ended up replacing the Edgerouter with the Unifi Dream Machine Special Edition. It not only gave me far greater control of my network assets, but it proved that the old Edgerouter was the culprit – no outages since the conversion. I had a third party wireless router configured as an access point that was still working, but since I implemented VLANs on the UDM-SE, I lost some wireless functionality since the 3rd party router could only broadcast 1 Wifi SSID, which was a problem. So, I replaced it with this AP.It set up pretty easily – I had a few learning curve issues to contend with, but after some trial and error, the AP came up well. I kept it located where the old 3rd party AP was, and I now have seamless coverage with the multiple SSIDs without issue. I am no network expert, and the new capabilities required some patience, but it is all up and running, and I couldn’t be happier. There are still some network config issues that I have to resolve, but they are minor. This AP fits in well and provides the coverage intended, and I have much more control over how my network works!
