which is great for capturing action
ever since the gopro craze occurred, i really wanted to get one of these action cameras. however, i didn’t have a use for them so i never wanted to pay the hefty price tag. thanks to amazon, i found this item and the price was reasonable so i decided to buy one and try it out. i do photography as an hobby so i know a thing or two about lens. this lens is very wide, which is great for capturing action. there’s some distortion on the edges but that’s expect of a wider lens. the noise quality is pretty decent in low light. in bright light settings, this camera gives it some pretty good images. the only thing that i havent tried is water resistance. i’m definitely taking this to my next beach trip and test it out. for now, i’ve used it for my bike rides and it’s pretty cool watching the footages from a different vantage point. overall, i think the price + quality is pretty awesome for this product. i’ve never seen the image qualities on a gopro before but the build quality is pretty much the same.

Picture quality is acceptable for the price, with solid range of color and proper 4k, it ships with tons of extras for proper mounting and positioning. Plug and play system for easy sharing, and small enough to not be a pain, to wrangle, however the video recording has issues with night recording and blowing out bright skies.

We have another winner. I spent three days testing it against a GoPro 5 and found it held up quite well, especially if you take into account the price. If you want to see the full video in HD, go to YouTube and search “Photojunky’s drone zone akaso ek7000 plus vs. Gopro 5”. The akaso ek7000 Plus offers slightly better video resolution and more megapixels when shooting photographs. This was apparent over its predecessor, and they managed to keep the cost down. It is no more expensive than the original ek7000.I found the menu easy to navigate. Just hit the power button a couple of times to get to the settings, and use the arrows on the side to scroll up or down through the different modes. Press the shutter button on top to choose what mode you want to enter. The camera feels solidly built and was easy to use. It’s this kind of camera that are killing GoPro. Why would you spend five times as much on a GoPro when you can get almost the same great quality for a fraction of the cost? Watch the video and judge for yourself.You also have to take into account the accessories. GoPro doesn’t give you any. The Akaso gives you literally a box full of accessories that allow you to mount it almost anywhere. The company is very generous.

OK for the price
I bought this camera for vacation cause I didn’t want to paid excursions operators for photos or to rent waterproof cameras, but I didn’t want to expend hundreds on a GoPro, that I will just use a couple of times per year. The waterproof enclosure worked well to protect the camera on the river current, jumping into the water from 8 ft high, and diving at a depth of 10 feet in the sea. The camera user interface and controls wasn’t too complicated to operate, although the manual wasn’t that helpful. The quality of the images and videos was good, comparable with a 12mp cellphone camera. The red filter worked really well for filming and photos underwater on the sea. My only complain is that the camera freezes frequently while taking videos (I least mine), making necessary to restart it, and when that happens the video get scrapped. I lost a lot of good videos because I though I was recording, only to found out that the camera was frozen. If you only want the camera for vacation photos, or short videos (and are careful) then this camera will work for you and save you a lot of money compare with the leading action camera brands, but if you need reliability while filming videos probably you will need to invest on a better camera.

Read Update Added Below, This Company Stands Behind Their Product
I bought this as a back-up to the EK7000 I already owned. SInce I’ve been using the old one and didn’t need this one right away I never opened the box or checked it since I got it. Today I decided to use it and found out it doesn’t work. Unfortunately the return window closed a week ago so it looks like I’m stuck with a broken camera I can’t use and can’t sell to anyone else. Learn by my mistake open all electronics bought from Amazon immediately when you get them and check to make sure they work. This is the 3rd electronic device I’ve purchased and had it fail within seconds of opening the box and turning it on. Especially the Chinese productsUPDATEI had previously reported that the window allowed by Amazon had closed and I thought I was stuck with a non-working camera. I took my complaint directly to the EK7000 supplier. They contacted me directly, giving me a short things to try, to fix the problem none of which worked. However, they immediately requested that I pack it up and send the broken camera to them, giving me the shipping address etc. I notified them it had been sent and shortly after I got a message saying a new camera had been shipped out to me from the company. I appreciate the company standing behind their product and making the sure their customers are taken care of. I own 2 EK7000 cameras and will continue to buy their products which they are willing to stand behind and back up.

finally my search for a good action camera came to an end.. this product is really awesome. I don’t think any other product has been launched in this price range with the quality that can be compared with gopro. Camera is too good to use in any weather conditions. The only issue is accessories, what they have written is not provided..Helmet mounts, Bicycle mounts are missing accessories..Look forward to hear if they can provide after continuous follow up.
